2022 IAFF Fallen Fire Fighter Memorial Event
Sep 16, 2022

September 17, 2022 • Colorado Springs, Colorado

Located in the shadow of Pikes Peak in Colorado Springs, the Memorial honors the sacrifice made by IAFF members who have given their lives in the line of duty.

The IAFF Executive Board has approved the Fallen Fire Fighter Memorial Committee’s plans for the 2022 and 2023 Fallen Fire Fighter Memorial ceremonies as follows:

  • The 2022 Fallen Fire Fighter Memorial ceremony will honor the 469 fallen members who would have been recognized at the canceled in-person 2020 and 2021 Fallen Fire Fighter Memorial ceremonies. The names were submitted between January 1, 2019, and December 31, 2020. See the Wall of Honor links below for the names of those to be honored in the 2022 ceremony.

  • Fallen members who have died or are submitted as line-of-duty deaths between January 1, 2021, and December 31, 2022, will be added to the Wall of Honor at the 2023 Fallen Fire Fighter Memorial ceremony.

The approved plans are to ensure that the 469 fallen members and their families from the 2020 and 2021 canceled in-person ceremonies are properly honored in the IAFF tradition at the 2022 Fallen Fire Fighter Memorial. It also ensures that fallen members submitted in 2021 and in 2022 are honored in a full traditional IAFF Fallen Fire Fighter Memorial ceremony in 2023.  More information can be found at the IAFF Fallen Fire Fighter Memorial website.
