Retiree Association
Jan 08, 2008
IAFF Local 42 has been kind enough to give retired members of our Union and Firefighter Widows a web presence.  I believe it is our job to keep the information concerning retiree's fresh.  If you have suggestions or information that might be of interest to retirees you can offer them to the Webmaster or E-mail Chuck Gabert at
In 1986 it became possible for retired members of Local 42 to maintain their union membership as Active Retirees.  Continued membership in our union, after retirement, has proven beneficial to our retirees and our local.
Two retired members, Captain Robert E. Palmer and Fire Fighter Steve Quinlin, sit on Local 42's Executive Board, and retired Fire Captain Ken McFarland is a Business Agent of Local 42.  Retirees also set on many of the committees of our local.
Throughout the year Active Retirees, in concert with, members of the Kansas City MO Retired Firefighters Association provide services to retirees, widows, Local 42 functions and charities.  Volunteers are always welcome and needed.
