We are proud to announce that this year the International Association of Fire Fighters broke a new record and raised over $60 million dollars for the Muscular Dystrophy Association during the Labor Day Telethon. Here at home in our own communities the public we serve helped Local 42 have another successful “Fill the Boot” campaign.
This year the Liberty Fire Department was able to participate in the Fill the Boot campaign for the first time in over 25+ years. Recently, the City Council enacted a new “In Street Solicitation” ordinance that enabled our members to participate in a four (4) day event over the Labor Day Weekend.
Despite the status of our economic downtrend the public within the Greater Kansas City metropolitan area opened their hearts and wallets and provided support for MDA during these tough economic times.
