What We Do
Local 42, as a founding affiliate of the IAFF, has been proudly representing Fire Fighters, First Responders and their families since 1918. This Union has a deep-seated tradition of fighting for all of our members to provide better wages, benefits and safe working conditions.

Our staff is comprised of a diverse group of hard-working public safety professionals who know Union rights. Their mission is to represent and advocate on behalf Local 42 members throughout the Greater Kansas City region. Local 42 is working for you from the firehouse to the statehouse!
